A big favorite amongst South Africans and Brits alike, the Pepper Steak Pie (aka Beef & Brandy Pie) is heaping with robust savory flavors. The Pepper Steak Pie is made with juicy chunks of beef shoulder, caramelized onion, loads of cracked black pepper and fresh thyme, slow braised in a rich dark brandy sauce, encased in a light flaky puff pastry and rich buttery shortcrust pastry base. These hand pies are generously sized, so you’ve got a fast weekday meal for one, or an easy group dinner dish ready in a flash.

Preheat oven to 400°F. Place the frozen pies on a baking sheet, and egg wash the tops. Place pies in preheated oven, and bake for 45 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Your pies must reach an internal temperature of 165°F or higher for safe consumption.
